IWLC has partnered with Vernon Research Group on this landmark project, which was launched at IWLC’s April 23-23 leadership conference in Coralville. The goal is to achieve participation from all 99 counties in Iowa, with at least 1,200 surveys completed and submitted by mid-summer. Results will be announced at the October 16 – Connect. Inspire. Deliver. leadership event in Altoona.

Here are three steps you can take to help IWLC reach their goal:

1.      If you’ve not already taken the survey yourself, please do so by visiting www.vernonresearch.com.

2.     Please encourage women in your networks of friends and colleagues to take the survey as well. Remember, this survey isn’t just for CEOs or corporate managers; women of any age who’ve had any type of leadership experience (volunteer groups, religious organizations, Girl Scouts, etc.) will have valuable input for us.

3.     For those of you leading large groups or organizations, we hope you will share this information with your female staff members and encourage their participation, to the extent that your HR/communications policies allow you to do so.

IPTV is seeking experienced broadcast journalists to produce engaging segments and programs for broadcast and on-line.  The producer/directors will research, develop, produce, direct, write, and edit material for IPTV local productions.

Applicant must have proven journalism expertise and capability to provide creativity and judgment on content and treatment of assigned video features and programs.  Applicant also must have effective and creative writing skills. The positions require travel in and out of Iowa.  Applicant must be willing to work a varied schedule, including nights and weekends.

Rate:
DMMO seeks $12,500 in new advertising sales at a 12% commission.  Should the consultant exceed the $12,500 ad sales goal, commission rate would increase to 15% for every ad sold above the goal.

With a major focus on early childhood education, distance learning and local programming and a national reputation for excellence, Iowa Public Television is one of public television’s most-watched statewide networks. The network is state-owned and independently operated with an annual budget of nearly $15,000,000.

The position reports to the nine-member Iowa Public Broadcasting Board, which holds the network’s FCC licenses. Candidates should possess successful management experience from institutions comparable to IPTV, with proficiencies in budgeting and fundraising, and written and spoken communications.   Of critical importance is the ability to relate effectively to multiple constituencies.

Greater Des Moines Chapter members gathered at the Latin King Restaurant in Des Moines for our annual holiday party on 12.12.12. In honor of the auspicious date, dessert, provided by The Chocolate Storybook, was 12 divine chocolate truffles shared among the 12 members present.

The floral shop at Hy-Vee Windsor Heights created and donated a lovely centerpiece of 12 red roses with holiday greenery which served as a door prize. Long-time member Kim Coulter was the lucky winner. There were two truffles left when all had been served, so we also drew for the truffles and the serving plate. New member Ann Klein was the winner.

Saturday Manufacturing’s six employees logged over 600 hours of volunteer time annually and donated 37.4% of pre-tax profits to local not-for-profit organizations.

Gina is a valued member of our programs committee and AWC got a plug as one of the organizations receiving board/committee time.
