October 19 Meeting at West Bank: Dave Busiek on TV News—How Things Have Changed

Dave Busiek will share a behind-the-camera look at how television news reporting has changed over the years.

Dave has worked 32 years in KCCI’s newsroom, the past 22 years as News Director. Prior to entering management, Dave was a reporter and co-anchored the 10pm

news. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. After graduation in 1976, he moved to Des Moines for his first job. He spent three years as a reporter and anchor at WHO Radio.

Dave is a past Chairman of the Radio-Television News Directors Association, where he served 12 years on the board of directors. Dave also chaired the Radio-Television News Directors Foundation. He’s received many awards and is very proud to share that, in 2009, KCCI received the national Murrow award for both Overall Excellence and Best Newscast.
